I Commit! openSUSE T-Shirt Design
Hey everyone!
I was just working on a little t-shirt design that Manu Gupta and Subhashish worked on and I thought, why not make the message even stronger. I got inspired by recent elements that appear on our clothing that use military shapes. So here is my rendition of "I commit to openSUSE" for our t-shirts. See if the message comes across. I think though that it would look a lot better and stronger on a blue t-shirt.

I'm sorry but that really doesn't capture what openSUSE is NOT about. OS isnt about force, OS isnt about the strong and OS isnt about comming out on top.
We are the underdogs. We are the weak. We are the solidarity.

You know, while I agree that we can have that outlook, I think also we can show commitment through these visual ideas. It is a hard thing to show commitment through ideas of "underdog, weakness, or solidarity." So the intention was not to show militarily power but commitment through these elements. You are reading the visual elements as "force" while I read them as commitment.
Nice idea :)
It is very "US military" indeed ;) (the star, the sergeant stripes)
You might want to use a different font for the "I commit" line, something bolder/thicker -- although I wouldn't use a font that is too "military" there, that would be too much.
I can agree with the last two comments, but I am trying to think what other options can I try. Do you guys have some suggestions? Or show me your own renditions.
Great work! Thanks for the great info.
I personally like this, actually. It says "I'm cool, a big boy, I make a difference". :D
